Kabul Beauty School
It is this story about Afghanistan, the press, news agencies a few weeks ago. Unlike most stories about Afghanistan, commenting on the fall of the Taliban regime and the end of the totalitarian regime in that country, it seems that the history of the other side of the range and relevance of much gravity, at least on the surface. The story of this documentary, which was to set up a beauty school in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
According to history, this documentary tells the story of six American women who travel to Afghanistan to train local people to be hairdresser. It is entitled “The Beauty Academy of Kabul” and is directed by Liz Mermin. The documentary tells how some major manufacturers of beauty products bank-rolled six volunteer American hairstylists, a beauty school in Kabul.
The documentary follows six women as they prepare for their trip, whether due to the uncertainty of their mission and their fears of going to a distant country where war and conflict are ongoing. To reach Kabul and the beginning of their mission, the women are pleasantly surprised by the enthusiastic reception they give to local women who are surprised by the crowd near the beauty of the school hoping to learn a trade that is really acceptable for women in their culture.
For three months, six Americans, local people learn about the latest cutting techniques, color, and style. Many women in the field are eager to learn what they are. Many of them are filled with pride as they explain how they are able to get their man as well as begin to help able to own a beauty salon successful. Some women saw the prospect of enjoying more money than their husbands. For most of them attend school beauty was a relief from the stresses of everyday life, including how to overcome hunger and to prevent diseases.
Ultimately, the documentary tells us two important things. First, despite a ludicrous view of some buildings and other signs of the conflict paralyzed the war in Afghanistan is not as bad as we think. And secondly, he tells us that Afghan women) (and probably men as well as blessed us with a healthy concern for beauty and appearance of the opportunity, excited good for their husbands.
