Spring is here and there are way too many sports on television. At least that is what most women claim anyway. As major events are being televised on even for those with the cheapest cable tv specials , most men are huddled around the set, even though the weather outside is beautiful. I prefer to watch golf, since it is my favorite sport, and since the 4 majors are scheduled in the springtime, it is the perfect moment for me to soak it all in.

The very best golf tournament in the world is the U.S. Open. I have been able to watch the action from Pebble Beach this year, and catch some of my favorite players such as Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els. These 2 have some amazing talent and seem to have an almost effortless swing. It is almost impossible for the average player to watch and not marvel at how they get the ball into the air so easily.

The coverage is remarkable, with camera shots that show the delicate touch being used to extricate a golf ball from a heavy clump of grass only a short distance from the tricky greens. I can only imagine what it would be like to compete against all of this talent.

What could be better than to enjoy my favorite sport, with a cold drink and good friends to share the moment?
